Building A Culture of Appreciation

Unity House recently hosted two staff appreciation picnics — one in Auburn at our 34 Wright Ave offices and another in Ithaca at Tutelo Park. Both were Hawaiian-themed and filled with great food, games, relaxation, and plenty of fun.

From cookout favorites to chair massages, it was our way of saying a big thank you to the incredible staff who make our work possible every day.

At Unity House, staff appreciation isn’t just 30 days out of the year. Gratitude is part of our culture. Our employees are the heart of our mission, and everything we do starts with compassion, dedication, and recognizing their extraordinary work.

A special thank you to Jane Stebbins-Skowron of Good Time Charlie’s Mobile Entertainment for bringing the music and great vibes as our DJ, and to Colleen Weibel of New Leaf Massage Therapy for providing mobile chair massages.

We’re just getting started. This September, we’ll launch Unity Games, a month-long series of challenges and team-building activities. We’ll also be recognizing staff longevity milestones, celebrating our incredible direct support professionals with gifts of gratitude, and finding even more ways to show our team how much they mean to us. Stay tuned!
