Golf for a good cause: $12.7k raised for Unity House
Beardsley Architects + Engineers recently held their 21st annual charity golf tournament at Highland Park Golf Course in Auburn. For the third year in a row, Unity House was honored as the event’s beneficiary.

Twenty foursomes competed across 18 holes, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.
The overall winning team, consisting of Ryan Benedict, Caddy Catalano, Joe Urban, and Carl Black, finished 13 under par with a total gross score of 58. The second-place team included Nick Shrimpton, Chris Shrimpton, Nate Gavitt, and Josh Swoleman, finishing 12 under par (58).
In the mixed division, the first-place team was Mike Howell, Mariah Howell, Christopher Hickey, and Bryce Pollock at 2 under par (69), while the second-place mixed team included Mark Pesek, Bob Pesek, Sarah Gauthier, and Robert Gauthier (69).
There was not a putting contest winner from 50 feet to win the grand prize of $5,000, but Nick Shrimpton won the closest putt out of four 15’ putt finalists, coming within 2 ft, 6 inches.

Thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors, and volunteers, the event raised $12,699 to support Unity House’s mission of empowering people with disabilities. Unity House extends a special thank-you to Beardsley Architects + Engineers, Unity House’s board of directors, and all event sponsors for making the day possible.
